The Health Professions & Sciences Building at Red Rocks Community College’s Arvada Campus brings together the college’s healthcare educational programs into a single, modern facility. Comprising 55,000 SF of new construction and 12,000 SF of renovated space, the building supports nursing, physician assistant, and medical science programs while accommodating the college’s rapidly growing enrollment in health-related fields. The design provides students and faculty with state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and collaborative learning spaces tailored to health professions education.
The project was inspired by Red Rocks’ commitment to innovative, hands-on education in healthcare. The facility fosters Project-Based Learning and Interprofessional Education, providing students with collaborative environments that simulate real-world healthcare settings. Unique to the campus, the expanded Physician Assistant program offers a Master of Medical Science degree, reflecting the college’s forward-looking approach to advanced health education. The design promotes active engagement, teamwork, and skill development to prepare students for the evolving demands of the healthcare industry.
The Health Professions & Sciences Building positions Red Rocks Community College as a regional leader in healthcare education. By consolidating programs and providing flexible, modern learning environments, the facility supports a high-quality education for current and future health professionals. Beyond student learning, the building serves as a community resource, offering continuing education opportunities for incumbent healthcare workers and supporting the campus as a regional triage and crisis response center. The project strengthens Jefferson County’s capacity to train skilled professionals, directly contributing to the health and wellness of the surrounding communities.
