Pathways Innovation Center, designed by MOA ARCHITECTURE in collaboration with Cuningham Group Architecture, serves Natrona County School District on a 38-acre campus in Casper, Wyoming. The facility provides innovative, hands-on learning environments that connect students to real-world experiences across engineering, arts and media, health sciences, and business. Central to the center is a 5,000-square-foot Fabrication Hall, a versatile industrial space where students can design, prototype, and build large-scale projects, from pre-fabricated houses to solar-powered airplanes. Transparent walls, open lab layouts, and collaborative workspaces integrate learning with industry mentorship, fostering creativity and critical problem-solving.
The design of Pathways Innovation Center is inspired by cutting-edge professional work environments, including Boeing’s Redmond, Washington facility. The building emphasizes visibility and collaboration, allowing students, faculty, and industry experts to work in close proximity. The Fabrication Hall serves as the heart of the center, creating a dynamic focal point where innovation comes to life. Surrounding labs, meeting spaces, and breakout areas overlook the hall, reinforcing a culture of transparency, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The architecture celebrates hands-on learning while supporting the district’s vision of bridging academic knowledge with practical skills.
Pathways Innovation Center equips students with the tools, space, and mentorship needed to tackle real-world challenges. By integrating fabrication, design, and professional collaboration under one roof, the center cultivates creativity, teamwork, and technical expertise. Industry partnerships provide students with direct mentorship and exposure to career pathways, enhancing both college and workforce readiness. The facility serves as a model for project-based, experiential learning in secondary education, inspiring students to explore innovation, pursue their passions, and prepare for the complex demands of tomorrow’s industries.
